Exhibition Preview

A busy and successful opening evening in the Memorial Hall this evening with 4 paintings sold plus a sculpture and many cards.  Children seemed delighted to see their paintings on the wall… especially those who got highly commended.  Another full day tomorrow – STREET FAIR DAY!

Eggciting Evening

2015 Egg Throwing Champions!  Our youngest ever winners Felix Wigzell and Oliver Pieroni, both 13, won with 20m throw.

Ron Prew’s Lamps

Ssshh… it’s meant to be a secret til tomorrow!  Take a look in the Ann Downer Room at The Corner House.  There you will find the most amazing collection of oil lamps.  Ron has been collecting them since 1962 and has hundreds…. go and chat to him about them during the Street Fair!

Fantastic Art Exhibition

The exhibition is all set up in the Memorial Hall – exhibitors from 5 yrs to 75 years!  The hall looks splendid, and we hope you will come along after the egg-throwing this evening and enjoy the art in peace, with a glass & a nibble – open til 9.30pm.  Open all day tomorrow (Saturday) as well…10.30-5pm

Children’s Art Exhibition

The Art Society team have been busy mounting and hanging all the competition entries from Primary School children on the theme of THE SCHOOL BICENTENARY.  The Memorial Hall now looks splendid with all the children’s paintings along the whole length of the wall.  Come along this evening (7-9.30pm) after egg-throwing and see who has got HIGHLY COMMENDED!
