The theme this year is ONCE UPON A YEAR…, chosen because there are so many important anniversaries to celebrate in 2016! Some are very well known, such as: 50 years since England won the World Cup, the death of William Shakespeare 400 years ago, and Queen Elizabeth II’s 90th birthday, but did you know that the bells in St Mary’s Church Charlbury are 300 years old this year, or the Cub Scouts celebrate their centenary, or that Roald Dahl was born 100 years ago, on September 13th (plenty of scope for fancy dress there!)? These are just a few ideas; you can probably think of lots more.
There are prizes for individual children in two age groups: 5 and under, and 6 to 11 years.
There is also a prize for the best group entry (two children or more, of any age up to 11). Entry is FREE, so why not come along to the Playing Close (Co-op end) at 1.15pm on September 17th, and join in all the fun!
